The client had had these chairs for over 30 years and never done anything with them. She entrusted me to bring them back to life - which was a real privilege.
They were stripped right back to wood - discovering an old hornets nest deep in the springs! Because there were some major repairs needed to the woodwork, the wood was painted black, and I used black button polish to bring a beautiful shine.
They are an unusual design with the seat sitting completely independent from the back, and they needed the tallest springs I've ever used.
The client chose two lovely Warwick Fabrics - Chambord and Lucas Graphite and piping from Houlès.
