Hello! I’m Charlotte

I am the owner of a small creative upholstery business which I run in the heart of the beautiful Limousin countryside in France where I live with my partner Ade and our beloved fox-red Labradors Millie and Ruby.

I moved to France in 2015, and soon discovered the many brocantes and second-hand shops selling unwanted but beautiful French furniture just waiting to be given a new lease of life! I have always been a frustrated creative and so after 30 years working in marketing in the academic publishing industry, I re-trained in the art of traditional upholstery – a craft that dates back centuries. Ade has renovated our old bread-oven (four à pain) which will be my workshop, and I have now realized my dream of setting up my own upholstery business here in France.

It’s not about what it is, it’s about what it can become: I am passionate about taking old, tired pieces of furniture, and turning them into something beautiful and totally unique. Nothing is too grand, and nothing too humble – all pieces are given the same level of care to make them something special.
